Everything in life can be explained by this joke—and I’m paraphrasing it: A guy is in a flood and prays to be rescued. The guy’s neighbor comes by in a raft and says to get in, but the guy says no. The water gets even higher, and rescuers come by in a boat and tell him to get in, but he says no. Then the water is so high, the guy is on his roof and a rescue helicopter flies over but the guy again refuses help. When the guy dies, he asks God why his prayers to be rescued weren’t answered and God tells him, “I sent a raft, a boat and a helicopter!” When I’m trying to make a decision and asking for a sign, I’m sure I miss a thousand obvious signs right in front of me. Big life decisions—taking a job, getting married or moving far away—are usually made after gathering information, but sometimes we miss the signs, or red flags—a crazy boss, possessive spouse or remote location—because we want some big declaration to confirm what to do. Best to keep our eyes and minds open and, hopefully, we’ll recognize the raft, the boat and the helicopter when they’re sent our way.
Guidance, Hope, Prayers Answered
Is that a sign?

Hopefully, we see the signs. But hindsight being 20/20, I’m glad I missed a few. I don’t think we’re meant to see all the signs, good or bad. As they say: My life didn’t turn out as I planned, and that’s okay.😀 Did anyone’s? 🤔
Thank you, Kramer. Your comment reminds me of the saying: People plan and God laughs!
Love this.
Thank you, Barbara!
