Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters was on The Graham Norton Show in 2021 and told that after the death of Kurt Cobain and end of Nivana, he didn’t know what he would do with his life. After a lifetime of solely wanting to do music, at just 25 years old he didn’t want to have anything to do with music — not even hear a song on the radio. To do some soul searching and decide what will come next for him, Dave Grohl went to the most remote area in the world he could think of to escape everything and everyone. He went to Ring of Kerry in Ireland and while driving on a country road spotted a hitchhiker that he decided to pick up. As the hitchhiker approached the car, Dave saw that the hitchhiker was wearing a Kurt Cobain t-shirt. At that moment, Dave Grohl knew he was heading home and starting Foo Fighters. What a clear and perfect sign!
