I have a friend that see hearts everywhere. In the kitchen: a heart-shaped lump of brown sugar when making a rub for her ribs, a heart-shaped hole in baby Swiss cheese noticed while making a sandwich for her son, a heart-shaped bubble formed by the cream in her morning coffee, the spices covering her salmon separated in the form of a heart. In the laundry room, a tossed sweater with a fold fashioned in a heart. When she’s outside: a heart-shaped knot on the wood deck, a heart-shaped divot on the ground, two tree branches forming a heart above her. Whenever she feels sad or anxious, the universe comes through with a heart. She’s always on the lookout and sees heart signs frequently. Seeing hearts lifts her spirits and are signs that things will be okay, to keep going and to have hope. She’s a big fan of SQuire Rushnell’s Godwinks. She calls her heart signs “Godwinks” and considers them encouragement from God. Godwinks are signs that aren’t considered coincidences but divine messages. Signs can make us feel hopeful and fill our hearts.
