I was at a friend’s party and when she mentioned that her mom had passed away, someone commented that now she’ll be finding dimes. We had never heard of that before, but a few days later, my friend let me know she found a dime on the street and another near her laundry basket. Later that day, I saw a clip of Tabitha Brown on The Jennifer Hudson Show talking about finding dimes. Tabitha Brown explained that her mom had ALS so they had a conversation about how they would communicate after her mom passed away. Tabitha’s mom had an experience with her own mother who sent her a nickel, so Tabitha’s mom said she would double that and send Tabitha dimes. After the funeral services for Tabitha’s mom in North Carolina, Tabitha came back to her home in Los Angeles. When her husband pulled back the covers to go to bed, he asked Tabitha why she put dimes in the bed. She told him she didn’t. The next morning while she was in the kitchen, she heard her husband screaming in the bathroom. When she went to see what was wrong, he pointed down at the shower full of dimes. Tabitha says that’s how it’s been for 16 years. When she’s thinking about her mom or even when she’s not, she finds dimes all the time. Tabitha had a great idea to establish a sign with her mom. I hope her mom never stops sending dimes.
