A friend was experiencing a tough loss and trying to avoid sinking into depression or becoming angry. Making the choice to be grateful, she embraced the little things as daily blessings to help with her grief. While pumping gas, a stranger at the next pump smiled at her. She smiled back and mentioned the beautiful day. As she put the nozzle back into the pump, the stranger told her that her exuberant smile made his day and asked if she would accept $20 to buy herself dinner on him. After initial hesitation, she accepted and told him she would pay it forward. Sometimes signs are actions and come when we need them most. An act of kindness is likely the most beautiful sign of all.
