A friend texted me a photograph of a grasshopper resting on her sliding glass door and said it had been there for more than a day. She mentioned that she had a bad week and was hoping that the grasshopper was a sign. Grasshoppers are a symbol of good luck. A visit from a grasshopper may be a sign that you should get past what’s holding you back and leap forward on your journey. I asked my friend how the grasshopper made her feel and what she thought the sign could be. Grasshoppers are sent to encourage us to follow our intuition and view obstacles as opportunities to grow. My friend shared that she felt comforted having the grasshopper hanging out on her door. She’s noticed that whenever she feels down an animal or insect will come and visit her. She believes they’re all her dad, taking the form of a creature to be near her. Perhaps her dad visited her as a grasshopper to send a sign to take a leap of faith and be persistent.
